In 1856 at the Seat of the Mining Chamber, Joseph Bachmann set up the Banská Štiavnica Meridian (Banskobystrický poludník) which every year served to determine the magnetic declension – the angle between the magnetic and astronomical north. It also helped determine the distance and timing difference between Banská Štiavnica and other European cities.
My noonline is an extension of the original meridian of Banská Štiavnica from 1856. The line is outlined according to noon local time. The table is a reminder of the relative distance and closeness of the city to other important cultural crossroads.
